Answers to Frequent Questions

Q. What time is the school open?
A. 7:00a.m. — 6:00 p.m.
Q. What is circle time?
A. Circle time includes morning lesson time, music & movement, and story time.
Q. Do you have a hot lunch program?
A. Yes, we have a hot lunch program with "RM Catering" for $3.00 per day offering regular & vegetarian menus to choose from.
Q. Do you provide snacks during the day?
A. Yes, we provide morning and afternoon snacks.
Q. What happens if my child gets sick?
A. The child is cared for in the office until a parent is able to pick up the child. We ask that the parent come within ½ hour of being called.
Q. Where do the kids play on cold and rainy days?
A. We have a multi-use room that is used during bad weather.
Q. What are your Teacher/child ratios?
A. Infant / Toddler is 1:4, Pre-Primary is 1:6, Primary 1 is 1:6, Primary 2 is 1:8, Pre-K / K is 1:12.
Q. How many families are at the school?
A. 107
Q. Do you have a PTA?
A. Yes, it is called the DeLor Montessori Parent Group.
Q. What are some of the school activities?
A. Visit the Pumpkin Patch, classroom parties, Disney on Ice, Snow and Camping trips, Family Picnics, and Teacher Appreciation Night.
Q. How do you encourage toilet training?
A. Once the parents have started the toilet training process at home, we will initiate it at school, typically between age 2 ½ - 3 years.
Q. Do you have any school fundraisers?
A. Yes. A school fundraiser in the fall and a Parent Group fundraiser in the spring.
Q. My child doesn't eat very well away from home. How do you cope with that?
A. We ask parents to send food that is easy for the child to eat and that they are familiar with. In the Infant/Toddler program we assist them with eating, but once they go in the Primary class they need to eat on their own.
Q. Do you have a sick policy?
A. Yes. It is in the enrollment package.
Q. When does the school year start?
A. The Tuesday after Labor Day. Before then we have a summer program in which numerous activities are planned for each child's enjoyment.

Q. How do I enroll my child in your school?
A. The first step is to call and schedule a tour of the facility, at which point you can put your name down on our waiting list.
